Optical Wave Services
Speeds of up to 100G with transparent transmission on a global basis
Optical Wave Service delivers ultra high capacity bandwidth up to 100Gbps over GCX’s global Optical Transport Network; perfect for carrier backbones and ISP networks, Content Delivery and Storage Area Networks, financial trading and of course Cloud computing.
Optical Wave Services is available in 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 10Gbps, 40Gbps, 100Gbps bandwidth speeds and is delivered as unprotected wavelengths between selected Points of Presence on GCX’s fiber-based global network.
Optical Wave Services is the preferred choice for service and content providers requiring vast bandwidth while enabling them to transport multiple network protocols (such as SDH, DWDM, Ethernet, fiber channel and video) over a single Layer 1 connection.
How It Works
- OTN-enabled DWDM MUXs are deployed across the GCX Global Network
- Multiple interfaces are mapped into virtual ODU-n containers, depending upon the speed
- Lower order virtual ODU-n containers are mapped with higher order virtual ODU-n containers for optimum bandwidth utilization
- Underlying data is transmitted transparently in the form of OTN enabled OTU-n interfaces across the GCX Global Network
The following interfaces are supported in Optical Wave Service:
|GE||10G LAN PHY||40GE|
|STM-16||10G WAN PHY||OTU-3|
On-net circuits can be provided rapidly, in many cases within 5 working days (for fast-tracked orders, 20 working days for standard orders). Optical Wave Services is assured by GCX on a 24 x 7 basis and is backed by Service Level Agreements which underwrite delivery and availability, providing the guarantees rightly demanded by wholesale carriers, content providers and financial institutions.
